BATTERIES REGULATIONS

THE BATTERIES AND ACCUMULATORS REGULATIONS

Trend Autopoint Ltd

The Waste Batteries and Accumulators Regulations:

If you’re buying a new battery from us, we will recycle your old one for you.

1.0 Why recycle?

Used batteries are the UKs fastest growing type of waste.

Many batteries can be repaired or recycled, saving natural resources and the environment. If you do not recycle, used batteries will end up in landfill where hazardous substances will leak out and cause soil and water contamination – harming wildlife and also human health.

1.1 We can help

We are pleased to offer our customers the chance to recycle their old battery when purchasing a new battery from us.

If you purchase a battery from us online, we will collect a battery from you & dispose of it for you, free of charge. The only cost to you will be our courier collection charges, passed on at the price we pay the courier. Courier Charges vary by weight & size of item & are available on request. For more information please contact us via email: cs@trenautoworld.com

1.2 Is there any other way of disposing waste batteries?

Alternatively, you can find your local waste portable battery recycling facility at www.recyclenow.com

Most supermarkets and shops that sell batteries will have collection bins for used batteries, and some town halls, libraries or schools may also set up collection points. End-users may find stores in their local area more accessible.

1.3 The aim of the regulation

The aim is to reduce the potential effects on the environment and human health as a result of the presence of hazardous substances in waste batteries.
